Through Achieving Lives Ltd, Bruce assists individuals and organiations achieve greater authenticity. Research has shown over and over again when people align all their internal resources towards a well defined goal, they will very much more quickly become effective in what they do. Frustration and dysfunction occurs when internal resources conflict, arrows rather then all pointing in the same direction, pointing at each other blocking the flow of belief and energy. Achieving lives makes use of NLP techniques, psychometrics, Emotional Intelligence, experiential workshops, and draws from the most up to date psychological theory to develop authenticity within individual and organizational clients. Such clients have ranged from Royal Mail and Shell, through, Cambridgeshire Police and BUPA, to the smaller enterprises like Tri force and Hinchingbrooke school.
What is N.L.P? (Neuro-Linguistic Programming).
NLP means through the interconnection of our 10 Billion neurons we program (interpret) our experience through the medium of language. This happens when the brain grows from 50% of it's adult weight at 6 months to 95% of it's adult weight at 10 years. This growth of brain size represents our existing nerve cells being connected up as a result of our unique experiences in the world. In the early stages we do not have verbal labels (language) to filter our experiences, however as we develop language we develop a way of crystallizing, defining, and thus fixing our experience in our conscious mind. "It is this fixing of experience through the filtering effect of language that prevents useful and positive change when the templates of our life are rigid and unproductive."NLP modelling helps us build models of how excellent people filter their experience, whilst NLP application is the application of these models to the appropriate domain. Just as the study of the patterning of the physical world (Physics) can be applied to bridge building or the construction of extra terrestrial vehicles, so the patterning of how excellent humans filter their experience can be applied to such diverse worlds as sport, business, coaching, or counselling. NLP training is the training of others in the implementation of such patterns in their own lives.
